Your LinkedIn Connections List Is Business Growth Oxygen

Two of the main reasons business owners use LinkedIn for are to advertise their business and to find potential business leads, in order to significantly increase their business growth rate. So of course, they want their profile to be found by as many people as possible, and they’ll also want to make connections in the specific areas they require. Dr Mark D Yates’ independent LinkedIn consultancy team exists to aid people in learning how to get the most out of their professional usage of LinkedIn, through LinkedIn training courses. More information on these training courses is available on LinkedIn sign.

It’s important to make sure your connections list is extensive but functional. While you definitely want as many people to know about your business as possible, you’re also going to want to connect to the exact right people – you’ll likely find both your target audience and potential business connections on LinkedIn. So you can use your connections list to reach the people you need to and promote your business to them, increasing your business growth rate substantially. You can connect to more people easily if you have mutual connections with them, via the ‘get introduced’ option. Use the advanced search feature to help you greatly with this, because it provides you with the ability to hone in on people with specific locations, job titles, companies and schools. You can hire a LinkedIn expert to compile a list of warm leads in the area of your choosing for you to connect to.

LinkedIn speaker Dr Mark D Yates recommends that you join groups to help get more connections. There are more than a million groups on LinkedIn, but you can join up to 50, so join groups that are relevant to your goals. You’ll almost certainly find groups that suit these goals, from making business connections in the right sectors to reaching your target audience, to just getting word of your business out there. You can also create up to 10 new groups of your own if you wish. You’ll need to interact often in groups, so that you can establish yourself as active within the group and gain more connections. Reply to any comments you get within the groups and also there will often be group discussions that you can share your opinion on, and you can create your own if you wish to as well. So take advantage of this and use groups to reach more people and increase your number of useful connections.

Updates can serve two purposes: maintaining the interest of current connections and attracting new ones. You can use them to reach out to your audience with posts to their activity feeds about your website or trending topics and articles. It’s important to make sure your content is not solely to do with you and your business, but that you engage with your audience using posts that you think they’d be interested in; once they’re interested in your content, they’re likely to become interested in you. Our independent LinkedIn consultancy professionals can also aid you with writing and posting regular updates. Use sponsored updates to have your advertisements appear on people’s activity feeds even if they’re not connections, and increase your number of connections, as well as brand awareness, this way. You can choose the location, gender, age job title and industry your sponsored updates are targeted towards, so you can either hone in on specific people or choose a wider range of people to reach out to.

A Company page is one of the most useful tools for facilitating business growth you’ll find on LinkedIn. With a considerable number of connections, you can gain a large following on this page and promote your business to your audience this way, on top of everything else. The company page gives you the opportunity to write a company description and overview to showcase your business’ unique selling points, and you can also customise the page with a banner and your logo. Remember to get any of your colleagues who are on LinkedIn to follow and promote the page to their connections as well. You should post links to your website, blogs, newsletters and anything else you want to gain people’s interest in. Start conversations with your followers the same way as your personal profile; by sharing updates with them and engaging with them to help gain more interest in you via word of mouth, since interesting topics will encourage more shares.

So, make your connections list count, in both quality and quantity. You need to make sure that you’re getting the most out of your connections list as well, using all of these techniques to help you make your connections list the “oxygen” for facilitating business growth.
