When using LinkedIn, it is a good idea to recognise it as a marketing platform and as the biggest business networking platform to date. Linkedin Business Growth Tip 1: Be Active!

The most important LinkedIn Advice I can give you, is make sure you have a lot of activity on LinkedIn.

I cannot stress that enough. By posting your own updates, LinkedIn will recognise you as an active profile and will boost you in the search results. Some additional Linkedin advice, could be to investigate popular or trending news articles and then maybe share a link to an article while expressing your own personal views.

Remember:

Even if you don’t share trending news, it is still a good idea to share updates from time to time for the sake of any potential viewer. If they find your profile and notice a period of inactivity then there is a chance they will return to search results and find another profile!

Linkedin Business Growth Tip 2: Get yourself out there!

Join groups.

There are plenty of LinkedIn Groups that you can join. However my ultimate Linkedin advice is that you are limited to joining 50 groups, so make sure you choose wisely so that they meet the needs of your business. While you are in groups, being active is still a good idea. If you are a contributor to a group and people are interested in the type of things you post then they are more likely to send a connection request.

Of course, you can also send out requests yourself to members you find in groups but it is a better idea to contribute a little first rather than joining a group solely to boost connections.

You only have the ability to join 50 groups at any given time so please make sure you choose wisely.

Linkedin Business Growth Tip 3: Be visible!

If you see an update, or an article on pulse that you enjoyed or found rather interesting, then simply give it a share, like or even just a comment. This piece of Linkedin advice only takes a minute and could effectively show your profile name to anyone else reading the article which may influence a profile view.

Higher profile views may also result in better indexing, bringing you higher in search results!

Linkedin Business Growth Tip 4: Endorse!

Some more good Linkedin advice to increase your LinkedIn Business Growth is to have high endorsements which can be used to Leverage your LinkedIn Profile. If you endorse some of your fellow connections then there is a chance they will endorse some of your skills in return. Having high endorsements gives viewers a sense that you are a credible member of LinkedIn and may actually be suitable for what they need. Of course, search rankings will also be better optimised due to your skills being better than most.

Remember:

You are only limited to handing out 100 endorsements a day. If you hand them all out to single people at a time then you would be limited to around 3-4 people. As the chances of them returning the favour can be a little small I would advise you to give a few endorsements to each person.

Linkedin Business Growth Tip 5: Keeping it Current!

An up-to-date profile is always good. A continuous profile is even better. If you constantly update your profile with projects, jobs, location and experiences then you will be recognised as a valuable member of the LinkedIn Community. This piece of Linkedin advice will not only will it increase your chances of appearing in search results, it will also give users a broader understanding about who you are and what you are about.

There are character limits in each section of your profile so it would be wise to keep content short and to a high quality without rambling on about uninteresting or unimportant points.
