The LinkedIn Apprentice, “You’re Hired!”

This is due to people finding LinkedIn on Facebook & Twitter but not using LinkedIn to their full advantage.

 

I know what you’re thinking, “Why is LinkedIn useful to me?” & “Why should young people be using LinkedIn instead of Twitter & Facebook?”

From the mouth of a young person, I can answer all of your questions & more.

 

I am currently a LinkedIn Apprentice for the #1 LinkedIn Expert’s EXPERT! His name is Dr. Mark D. Yates & he has received this ranking from over 230 million members world-wide.

 

From a young persons point of view, I can understand why young people wouldn’t use LinkedIn, it is for Business owners, right? WRONG.

 

A study shows that the average age of LinkedIn users is 40. But with over 1 million unemployed youngsters in the UK  I do believe that the average age should be a lot lower and young people should be embracing LinkedIn.

 

The first obvious problem is that there are no young people on LinkedIn & the majority of young LinkedIn users are not active on it. This is probably the biggest issue that LinkedIn has.

 

Young people complain that there are no jobs, but the fact that they aren’t on LinkedIn makes me think they aren’t trying very hard to look. I was stunned to find job advertisements from one of the biggest brands known, Microsoft. Imagine working for Microsoft! I was shocked, you would not find a job listing like that on the Job Center Plus website. Another problem youngsters have is trying to get their foot in the door, ‘if my friends aren’t on LinkedIn, then why should I be?’ Wrong again.

 

LinkedIn is not just finding out whether your friends are on there, it is the fact that so many companies post vacancies on there & you might just get spotted by a recruiter who likes the look of your profile, even if they’re not posting a vacancy. So many recruiters hire a talent finder or look themselves through LinkedIn to find the perfect candidates, that could be you.

 
In conclusion, if you are a young person, why are you not using LinkedIn? Embrace it! You never know what could happen.
