LinkedIn Power Networking 10 Things I Wish I’d Known 12 Months Ago

1: LinkedIn give most new members 3,000 linkedin profile invitations to connect with others. However, they don’t typically tell people this. Nor do they tell you your 3,000 linkedin profile invitations form your LinkedIn foundation for everything else you do on LinkedIn.

 

 

2: You have to convert a very high percentage of these 3,000 linkedin profile invitations into 1st level LinkedIn connections. If you do, then LinkedIn will give you further invitations. If you fail to convert a high percentage, then LinkedIn won’t give you any more linkedin profile invitations to connect.

 

 

3: LinkedIn have an upper maximum limit of 30,000 business connections. You can’t have any more.

 

 

 

4: I would never have believed a contemporary business social media site would severely restrict and punish proactive business networkers for attempting to connect with new linkedin profile business contacts they have not personally met.

 

 

 

5: That a 3 letter acronym IDK would strike the fear of god into any business person who wanted to extend their business linkedin profile contact base to include people they don’t actually know (IDK) but are members of the same LinkedIn groups as you.

 

 

 

6: That the world’s most professional business networking group LinkedIn could have grown so fast on the foundation of such a diabolical customer service department. Yes, I genuinely believe that LinkedIn is the world’s most professional business networking group, but their customer service is their Achilles Heel.

 

 

 

7: The LinkedIn risk and privacy service teams can and will, without hesitation restrict, suspend or close down your LinkedIn business networking linkedin profile and devastate your business marketing strategies, without any kind of customer care or empathy. You have no right of appeal and a faceless and nameless LinkedIn operative will not allow you any kind of appeal and nor will they put you in contact with their senior manager.

 

 

 

8: It can take up to 14 e-mails, one per day and several telephone calls to LinkedIn’s UA office over a 2 week period to receive an answer to a customer service problem.

 

 

 

9: Not all LION’s, Open & Top linkedin profile members really do accept all invitations to connect. A number say they do, but some actually IDK you to LinkedIn. This is not how to use linkedin.

 

 

 

10: Here’s some linkedin news. It’s really not a coincidence nor a testament to your good looks when 56 of the world’s most beautiful women all connect with you one after the other in a 15 minute time-frame on LinkedIn, especially when they all have the same Hot Mail e-mail address.
