Free LinkedIn Training for Recruiters

July 24, 2015 |  by  |  Business, Linkedin Blog, Training

LinkedIn was originally established as an easy platform for jobseekers and recruiters to use to connect to one another, creating opportunities for both. While now, it’s used for more than just that purpose, there’s still an extensive forum for recruiters to advertise jobs. Our independent LinkedIn consultancy team offers information on utilising LinkedIn’s features to open up doors for recruiters to not only advertise vacancies, but also hone in on the right people for the job. LinkedIn expert Dr Mark D Yates offers our LinkedIn training to businesses, job seekers, recruiters and more, since anyone in the professional world would benefit from using LinkedIn.

With our LinkedIn training, you’ll learn how to make your profile stand out from others, which will get more attention from potential new employees and also prospective business connections as an added bonus. We use techniques such as SEO to ensure that your profile appears as high up as possible on searches both on LinkedIn and on external search engines. It’s important to fill out all of the sections of your profile that you can, especially the summary about yourself and your experience and education sections. It’ll help to mention that you’re recruiting in your profile header and/or summary, and the experience section will help you showcase your company and what you do. Include projects to further illustrate what you’re capable of.

You’ll need to be utilising the advanced search section to find new connections. You can find people by their job title, company name, location and school. You can also search by non-profit interests and past companies, useful when looking for people with specific experience. With such an extensive search feature, you can hone in on the exact types of people you’re looking to hire. It’s especially useful to have connections in the areas of LinkedIn you want to be in, as you can ‘get introduced’ to people you have mutual connections, or even just one mutual connection, with.

Join groups in order to increase your number of connections easily. LinkedIn Speaker Dr Mark D Yates will tell you that joining at least one group would be extremely useful to you, and that you should aim to interact in these groups as often as possible. Always create or participate in group discussions and reply to the other group members. You can join a group that suits your needs – there are groups specifically for recruitment, or ones aimed and people in specific sectors or with specific experience.

Always post updates to your connections’ activity feeds. This is to make sure you’re not left behind or forgotten about – to maintain your online network, you need to be an active user who responds to queries and gives out advice whenever you can. Updates can range from a reminder that you have vacancies to popular topics in the news, so post articles and discuss them with people. Profile rankings will definitely go up with continued updates, and you’re likely to end up with more profile views as a result.

You’ll find that one of the most useful aspects of LinkedIn when it comes to recruiting is the forum dedicated to jobseekers and recruiters. Here, you can post your vacancy advertisement and have people send you their CV directly. This also gives you the opportunity to look up their LinkedIn profiles and get a good idea of what they’re like. You can even connect to them and converse with them without issue. Don’t forget that our LinkedIn training can also help with the best ways to advertise your vacancy on LinkedIn. The forum allows people to search by the location, skills involved, industry, and job title; so don’t leave anything out and make sure your vacancy appears on as many searches as possible.

There’s a whole host of information on LinkedIn Sign that you will find useful when it comes to using LinkedIn professionally. LinkedIn expert Dr Mark D Yates recommends you check it out to make sure you are getting the most out of LinkedIn. With our LinkedIn training, you’ll be taught the best ways to leverage LinkedIn for whatever purpose you’ll need in future, from recruiting to online networking and advertising.
