Do You Want More Connections, Leads, Referrals & More Business?

You may have noticed the new ‘endorsement’ facility implemented by Linkedin in the last couple of months.

It’s a VERY POWERFUL method for promoting you and your Linkedin listed skill sets.

You can provide an endorsement for someone you know who has particular skills and experience in one, or all of the ‘Skills & Expertise’ section of a person’s Linkedin profile page.

beat the oddsIt’s so simple, just follow this procedure to endorse a person.

1: Open up your own Linkedin Profile page.
2: Search for a person, i.e. Mark D Yates in the ‘Search Box’.
3: Open the person’s Linkedin profile page.
4: Scroll down to their Skills & Expertise section.
5: Endorse them for as many of the skills & expertise titles they have listed that you feel comfortable with.

The maximum number of endorsements you can provide to one individual Linkedin member is 50, as this is the limit of skills & expertise titles a person can list on their Linkedin profile.

Apparently the endorsement feature is NOT intended to replace the client & customer written recommendation provision. View recommendations.

Why You Should Endorse Your Associates:

1: The endorsement feature has been added so that prospective clients, customers & associates can see that the person has been endorsed for specific skill sets and sectors.

2: Endorsements are simple and fast to provide and form a dynamic visual part of your Linkedin profile page.

3: An added bonus is that once you have endorsed a person, Linkedin will inform the person you have endorsed them, and then prompt them to reciprocate by endorsing you.

Why You Should Embrace Endorsements:

1: This new endorsement facility will help increase your connections and will help fuel your business growth.

2: Endorsements will increase customer & client confidence in you and your level of professionalism.

3: There is much chatter within the Linkedin membership that Linkedin will soon start using the number of endorsements you receive to help drive you up the search engine rankings.

A number of my business owner client’s asked me to check out the endorsements facility for them. I can only guess that this will swiftly turn into an added value marketing strategy by Linkedin to draw in more targeted fee paying advertisers.

That said, on the face of it I think it’s a fantastic addition to every Linkedin profile.

The only perceived downside I have is that some of the less credible Linkedin shysters will abuse it to promote their false or misleading profiles in order to reach a larger audience to spam.

Although it’s only been active for a couple of months the endorsements facility is already being abused by people touting unknown Linkedin connections for endorsements on the proviso they will endorse you in a reciprocal deal.

Clearly this devalues the endorsement feature but I guess unprofessional will always seek short cuts to everything.

I guess I’d rather have 10 relevant endorsements from my clients and associates than a 1,000 from people I don’t know, and who don’t know me.

Don’t miss the boat on this new facility as it does allow you a much higher profile than your Linkedin competitors who have zero endorsements.

So if you want more connections, leads, referrals & more business, having top quality endorsements from genuine customers, clients and associates provides fantastic buyer confidence in you, your products and your services.
