How A Top LinkedIn Position Can Improve Your Sales & Profits

Do you have a #1 position on LinkedIn’s ‘Advanced Search’ results for a selection of keywords relating to your business sector/industry or skill set?

No?

 

Then you’re probably not getting lots of leads, referrals & enquiries from potential customers & business partners through your LinkedIn activity.

LinkedIn advanced search is becoming a powerful search engine tool for finding professionals from a huge range of business industries & sectors. Be aware that it is not only recruiters who are looking to find you fast through LinkedIn.

Due diligence officers, potential business partners/investors, professionals & senior business decision makers are looking to find the leading individuals, companies & customers who provide the best service.

It is no good only appearing in search results for just your own name & company name. People need to find you from searching for your relevant skills & services too. How else are they going to find you, invest in you, buy from you or do business with you?

If your profile has good keyword & key phrase density for skills & services relating to you, your profile will appear higher in LinkedIn search results. This means more people will view your profile & want to do business with you.

Tough Talk

You are not going to appear high in LinkedIn advanced search results by magic. It takes time, thought & patience to make an impact on LinkedIn & you will have to invest significant effort into writing your LinkedIn profile properly to get it to the top of a results page for a particular keyword or key phrase.

Tool Tip

You need to pick specific keywords relating to your business sector (i.e. you work in the Printing sector, so a keyword could be ‘printing’). Keywords should be consistently repeated throughout your profile script content (1-3% is the ideal ratio; if you go over this percentage LinkedIn can take your profile down for keyword stuffing). The summary section on LinkedIn is around 300 words so one keyword should appear between 3-9 times.
Get this right and your ‘end game’ is increased sales and profits.
