Embrace Change – Embrace New Revenue From Linkedin

LinkedIn is constantly evolving so you need to keep up to speed on how to stay ahead of the curve so to speak. One aspect to keep ahead of is how to remove your outstanding invitations.

Change is difficult for most of us & just when you get comfortable with one section of Linkedin, they move the goalposts & change it.

One such recent change has been to the “contacts” menu, an update that is still slowly rolling out to all LinkedIn members. The profile screen functions in almost exactly the same way, except for one notable feature. Previously at the bottom of the contacts menu was information on the number of “outstanding invitations” you had pending on your account. This information has now been removed.

However it can still be recovered, so if you want to streamline & increase your connection effectiveness simply send an email to LinkedIn support asking how many outstanding invitations you have. In your email also ask them how many total invitations you have left to send.

Tip: Linkedin give most new members a 3,000 invitation allocation.

If you have lots of outstanding Invitations you can ask LinkedIn to remove them all.

Tough Talk

Be bold. If any Linkedin members fail to reply to your invitation to connect within a couple of weeks Sherlock Holmes would say this is a clue that they are not very proactive on Linkedin, & by definition not much value to you or your connection base. So remove them ASAP.

Tool Tip

Sending a connection request takes an invitation out of your 3,000 invitation allocation. Wiping your outstanding connection requests does NOT put it back in the pool. Once you’ve sent an invitation it’s gone forever, so send them wisely & keep on top of your outstanding invitations.
