50,000 Reasons to Embrace Linkedin as a Business Consultant

June 3, 2013 |  by  |  Linkedin Blog

The following email landed in my In-tray Friday evening May 31st 2013.

Hi Mark,

“I know you are a huge supporter of LinkedIn and are very much at the forefront of this in your professional activities – I’ve been following the discussions on the same subject in the new IIBAA which I think is excellent and thanks for setting this up

I am a recent convert to LinkedIn and have over the last year been working away with a bit of experimentation here, a little there.

elinked Logo Anyway, just to show the effectiveness of this media, I was contacted a short while ago through my LinkedIn profile by a previously unknown prospect in the US looking for specific IT Hardware which I am involved in.

This afternoon I received a USD $50,000 Purchase Order from them……….

Just goes to show what can be achieved!”

After a brief discussion with John he also sent me the following:

“Mark I would not be so bold as to say that I had a lot of expertise in LinkedIn, but I keep on plugging away and experimenting and trying to learn from others. It is like so much in life, unless you actually do something differently and make the effort, nothing changes!

Of course it wasn’t just a matter of a Company making contact with me through LinkedIn having seen one of my broadcasts or some such and this was converted into a decent chunk of business instantly – we had to work at it with our new Client to convert the contact into business – but the thing is without a Profile on Linked In and careful use of the media to the best of my ability – it would never have happened

So, 50,000 reasons to embrace Linkedin as a business consultant, actually translated into $50,000 for John and his business, from one just deal. This is the phenomenal power of Linkedin once you master how to leverage it.

John’s business is based in the United Kingdom, but a customer from the USA spent $50,000 because John did two things, which a very high percentage of old school business consultants fail to do.

1: He recognised and then embraced change. Linkedin is the world’s largest and most powerful online business social media network with over 225, 000, 000 business members world-wide, including 11 million plus in the UK.

Linkedin is also the newest, largest and most fertile business hunting ground on the planet.

But you have to embrace change and conduct a little personal soul searching, mixed with a little experimentation.

Or you hire in business growth specialists to do for you what John did for himself, in a fraction of the 12 + months time it took John to do it.

2: By definition of doing something different, John pre-programmed himself for business growth from an online source that many old school consultants shy away from. The usual reasons for this include: being a late adopter of new technology driven marketing opportunities, or from simply being a technology Laggard or Technophobe.

John leveraged $50,000 dollars from ONE unknown client who found him on Linkedin and bought into John’s expertise & professionalism based on the way his Linkedin profile was written and presented.

This blossomed into a new business relationship that initially materialised from cyber-space.

Just imagine the following for one moment.

What if John enhances the design of his Linkedin profile like a professional ‘Business Honey Trap’ to draw in a further 20 or more similar business decision making prospects? All of a sudden John could be leveraging $1,000,000 million plus a year just from his Linkedin marketing endeavours.

You might be wondering if it’s possible.

Absolutely! We do precisely this for business owner clients.

Because everyone and everything you need to grow a profitable long term sustainable business exists on Linkedin. You’ve just got to position yourself or your business clients, as so professionally business attractive, that prospects start circling you like wasps around a Honey Trap.

Once you or your marketing agency master this concept, you’ll quickly realise that there is infinitely more business growth value in having your industry sector business decision makers investing the time, effort and energy in researching or talent spotting you, rather than vice versa.

And that’s the magic of creating a Honey Trap Linkedin profile.

And if you don’t know how to do it, or you don’t have the time to do it, or you have no desire to learn Linkedin business social marketing, then hire in a specialist agency that provide this as a professional business growth service.

But be careful and conduct your due diligence wisely, because there are less than 6 really specialised Independent Linkedin marketing companies in the entire UK, and only two of those are laser focused on providing Linkedin consultancy as a proven business growth strategy for business owners.

If you refuse to embrace this for your own business consultancy growth, then at the very least give it serious consideration for EVERY one of your client’s businesses. It doesn’t matter how mainstream, or how niche, or where the business is geographically located, the secrets to growing your client’s businesses are on Linkedin as previously mentioned.

If you want to ‘white label’ a professional Linkedin business growth consultancy service under your consultancy name for your client’s, then this can be done for you.

The beauty of providing this ‘white label’ service to your client’s is that you get paid a monthly partnership fee and your client’s receive a world-class Linkedin business growth service from you.

I congratulate John and appreciate him granting his permission to publish his recent case study synopsis.

“Mark you have my permission to publish this if you feel it might help other IIB Executive Associates. Kind regards John Nichols.”
